A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, And the good deed of a man’s hands will return to him.

An ignorant fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent man conceals disgrace.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

From the fruit of a man’s mouth he eats what is good, But the soul of the treacherous desires violence.

The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

In a multitude of people is a king’s splendor, But in the dearth of people is a prince’s ruin.

The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts insightfully, But his fury is toward him who acts shamefully.

An ignorant fool spurns his father’s discipline, But he who keeps reproof is prudent.

When a man’s ways are pleasing to Yahweh, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

In the light of a king’s face is life, And his favor is like a cloud with the late rain.

A worker’s appetite works for him, For his mouth urges him on.

The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The fountain of wisdom is a flowing brook.

A fool’s lips come with strife, And his mouth calls for beatings.

A fool’s mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own delusion.

Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But Yahweh weighs the hearts.

Let your foot rarely be in your neighbor’s house, Lest he have more than his fill of you and hate you.

To eat too much honey is not good, Nor is it glory to search out one’s own glory.

Do not forsake your friend or your father’s friend, And do not come to your brother’s house in the day of your disaster; Better is one who dwells near than a brother far away.

A man’s lofty pride will bring him low, But a lowly spirit will take hold of glory.

Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name? And what is His Son’s name? Surely you know!
