Proverbs 1:7 - 1:9

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge;

Ignorant fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Hear, my son, your father’s discipline

And do not abandon your mother’s instruction;

For they are a garland of grace for your head

And ornaments about your neck.

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom,

And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

So He said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;

And to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom;

Good insight belongs to all those who do His commandments;

His praise stands forever.

13 The end of the matter, all that has been heard: fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the end of the matter for all mankind.
