The Golden Lampstand

4Then ^athe angel who was speaking with me returned and ^broused me, as a man who is roused from his sleep. ²And he said to me, “^aWhat do you see?” And I said, “I see, and behold, a ^blampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its ^cseven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it, ³also ^atwo olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side.” ⁴Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me saying, “What are these, ^amy lord?” ⁵So ^athe angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, “^bDo you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” ⁶Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, “This is the word of Yahweh to ^aZerubbabel, saying, ‘^bNot by ¹might nor by power, but by My ^cSpirit,’ says Yahweh of hosts. ⁷‘What are you, O great ^amountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with ^bshouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

⁸Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ⁹“The hands of Zerubbabel have ^alaid the foundation of this house, and his hands will ^bfinish it. Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to ¹you. ¹⁰“For who has despised the day of ^asmall things? ¹But these ^bseven will be glad when they see the ²^,^cplumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the ^deyes of Yahweh which ^eroam to and fro throughout the earth.”

¹¹Then I answered and said to him, “What are these ^atwo olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?” ¹²And I answered the second time and said to him, “What are the two olive ¹branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden oil from themselves?” ¹³So he spoke to me, saying, “^aDo you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, ^bmy lord.” ¹⁴Then he said, “These are the two ¹^,^aanointed ones who are ^bstanding by the ^cLord of all the earth.”

A Flying Scroll

5Then I lifted up my eyes again and saw, and behold, a flying ^ascroll. ²And he said to me, “^aWhat do you see?” And I said, “I see a flying scroll; its length is ¹twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.” ³Then he said to me, “This is the ^acurse that is going forth over the face of the whole ¹land; surely everyone who ^bsteals will be ²purged away according to ³the writing on one side, and everyone who ^cswears will be ⁴purged away according to the writing on the other side. ⁴“I will ^amake it go forth,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “and it will ^benter the house of the ^cthief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and ^dconsume it with its timber and stones.”

A Woman in an Ephah

⁵Then ^athe angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.” ⁶So I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the ¹^,^aephah going forth.” Again he said, “This is their ²appearance in all the ³land ⁷(and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah.” ⁸Then he said, “This is ^aWickedness!” And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and threw the lead weight on its ¹opening. ⁹Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a ^astork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. ¹⁰And I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?” ¹¹Then he said to me, “To build a ¹house for her in the land of ^aShinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal.”

Four Chariots

6Then I lifted up my eyes again and saw, and behold, ^afour chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains. ²With the first chariot were ^ared horses, with the second chariot ^bblack horses, ³with the third chariot ^awhite horses, and with the fourth chariot ^bdappled horses—all of them mighty. ⁴Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “^aWhat are these, my lord?” ⁵And the angel answered and said to me, “These are the ^afour spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth, ⁶with one of which the black horses are going forth to the ^anorth country; and the white ones go forth after them, and the dappled ones go forth to the ^bsouth country. ⁷“Now the mighty ones went out, and they sought to go to ¹^,^apatrol the earth.” And He said, “Go, ²patrol the earth.” So they ³patrolled the earth. ⁸Then He cried out to me and spoke to me saying, “See, those who are going to the land of the north have ^acaused My Spirit to have rest in the land of the north.”

The Crown and the Temple

⁹And the ^aword of Yahweh came to me, saying, ¹⁰“^aTake an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah; and you come the same day and come into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have come from Babylon. ¹¹“And take silver and gold, make an ornate ^acrown, and set it on the head of ^bJoshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. ¹²“Then you will say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “Behold, a man whose name is ¹^,^aBranch, and He will ²^,^bbranch out from where He is; and He will ^cbuild the temple of Yahweh. ¹³“Indeed, it is He who will build the temple of Yahweh, and He who will ^abear the splendor and sit and ^brule on His throne. Thus, He will be a ^cpriest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two ¹offices.”’ ¹⁴“Now the ^acrown will become a memorial in the temple of Yahweh to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and ¹Hen the son of Zephaniah. ¹⁵“^aAnd those who are far off will come and ¹build the temple of Yahweh.” Then you will ^bknow that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. And it will happen if you utterly ^clisten to the voice of Yahweh your God.

The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath

16Then I heard a loud voice from ^athe sanctuary, saying to the ^bseven angels, “Go and ^cpour out ¹on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

²So the first angel went and poured out his bowl ¹^,^aon the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant ^bsore on the ²people ^cwho have the mark of the beast and who worship his image.

³And the second angel poured out his bowl ^ainto the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living ¹thing in the sea died.

⁴Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the ^arivers and the springs of waters, and they ^bbecame blood. ⁵And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “^aRighteous are You, ^bwho is and who was, O ^cHoly One, because You ^djudged these things; ⁶for they poured out ^athe blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them ^bblood to drink. They ¹deserve it.” ⁷And I heard ^athe altar saying, “Yes, O ¹^,^bLord God, the Almighty, ^ctrue and righteous are Your judgments.”

⁸And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon ^athe sun, ^band it was given to it to scorch men with fire. ⁹And men were scorched with ¹fierce heat, and they ^ablasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they ^bdid not repent so as to ^cgive Him glory.

¹⁰Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the ^athrone of the beast, and his kingdom became ^bdarkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, ¹¹and they ^ablasphemed the ^bGod of heaven because of their pains and their ^csores, and they ^ddid not repent of their deeds.

¹²And the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the ^agreat river, the Euphrates, and ^bits water was dried up, so that ^cthe way would be prepared for the kings ^dfrom the ¹east. ¹³Then I saw coming out of the mouth of the ^adragon and out of the mouth of the ^bbeast and out of the mouth of the ^cfalse prophet, three ^dunclean spirits like ^efrogs; ¹⁴for they are ^aspirits of demons, ^bdoing signs, which go out to the kings of the ^cwhole ¹world, to ^dgather them together for the war of the ^egreat day of God, the Almighty. ¹⁵(“Behold, ^aI am coming like a thief. ^bBlessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his garments, ^cso that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”) ¹⁶And they ^agathered them together to the place which ^bin Hebrew is called ¹^,^cHar-Magedon.

The Seventh Bowl

¹⁷Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon ^athe air, and a ^bloud voice came out of the ^csanctuary from the throne, saying, “^dIt is done.” ¹⁸And there were flashes of ^alightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was ^ba great earthquake, ^csuch as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. ¹⁹^aAnd the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the ¹nations fell. ^bBabylon the great was ^cremembered before God, to give her ^dthe cup of the wine of the wrath of His rage. ²⁰And ^aevery island fled away, and the mountains were not found. ²¹And ^ahuge ¹hailstones, about one ²talent each, *came down from heaven upon men; and men ^bblasphemed God because of the ^cplague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely ³severe.

2“¹I am the ²^,^arose of ^bSharon,The ^clily of the valleys.”²“¹Like a lily among the thorns,So is ^amy darling among the daughters.”³“¹Like an ²^,^aapple tree among the trees of the forest,So is my beloved among the sons.In his shade I had great desire and sat down,And his ^bfruit was sweet to my ³taste.⁴“He has ^abrought me to his ¹house of banqueting,And his ^bbanner over me is love.⁵“Sustain me with ^araisin cakes,Refresh me with ¹^,^bapples,Because ^cI am lovesick.⁶“Let ^ahis left hand be under my headAnd ^bhis right hand ^cembrace me.”⁷“¹I ^acall you to solemnly swear, O ^bdaughters of Jerusalem,By the ^cgazelles or by the ^dhinds of the field,^eThat you do not arouse or awaken my loveUntil ²she pleases.”

The Bride Delights in Her Beloved

⁸“¹The voice of my beloved!Behold, he is coming,Leaping ^aon the mountains,Jumping on the hills!⁹“My beloved is like a ^agazelle or a ^byoung ¹stag.Behold, he is standing behind our wall;He gazes through the windows;He is peering ^cthrough the lattice.¹⁰“My beloved answered and said to me,‘^aArise, my darling, my beautiful one,And come along.¹¹‘For behold, the winter is past,The rain is over; it is gone.¹²‘The flowers have appeared in the land;The time for ¹pruning has arrived;And the voice of the ^aturtledove has been heard in our land.¹³‘The ^afig tree has ripened its figs,And the ^bvines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,And come along!’”¹⁴“¹O ^amy dove, ^bin the clefts of the ²rock,In the secret place of the steep ³pathway,Let me see your appearance,^cLet me hear your voice;For your voice is sweet,And your appearance is ^dlovely.”¹⁵“¹^,^aSeize the foxes for us,The ²little foxes that are wreaking destruction on the vineyards,While our ^bvineyards are in blossom.”¹⁶“¹^,^aMy beloved is mine, and I am his,He who ^bshepherds his flock among the lilies.¹⁷“^aUntil the day breathes and the shadows flee,Turn, my beloved, and be like a ^bgazelleOr a young stag ^con the mountains of ¹Bether.”
