Alas, sinful nation, People heavy with iniquity, Seed of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh; They have spurned the Holy One of Israel; They have become estranged from Him.

For ten acres of vineyard will yield only one bath of wine, And a homer of seed will yield but an ephah of grain.”

Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, And it will again be subject to burning, Like a terebinth or like an oak Whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.”

You will not be united with them in burial, Because you have ruined your country, You have killed your people. May the seed of evildoers not be called upon forever.

In the day that you plant it you carefully fence it in, And in the morning you cause your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap In a day of sickliness and incurable pain.

Does the farmer plow continually to plant seed? Does he continually turn and harrow his ground?

Then He will give you rain for the seed which you will sow in the ground, and bread from the produce of the ground, and it will be rich and fat; on that day your livestock will graze in a roomy pasture.

“But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Seed of Abraham My friend,

Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your seed from the east, And gather you from the west.

For I will pour out water on the thirsty ground And streams on the dry land; I will pour out My Spirit on your seed And My blessing on your offspring;

I have not spoken in secret, In some dark land; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a formless place’; I, Yahweh, speak righteousness, Declaring things that are upright.

In Yahweh all the seed of Israel Will be justified and will boast.”

Your seed would have been like the sand, And the offspring from your loins like its grains; Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.”

But Yahweh was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If You would place His soul as a guilt offering, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of Yahweh will succeed in His hand.

For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And your seed will possess nations And will resettle the desolate cities.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

“But draw near, you sons of a soothsayer, Seed of an adulterer and a prostitute.

Against whom do you jest? Against whom do you open wide your mouth And stick out your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, Seed of lying,

“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says Yahweh: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, nor from the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says Yahweh, “from now and forever.”

Then their seed will be known among the nations, And their offspring in the midst of the peoples. All who see them will recognize them Because they are the seed whom Yahweh has blessed.

I will bring forth a seed from Jacob, And a possessor of My mountains from Judah; Even My chosen ones shall possess it, And My slaves will dwell there.

They will not labor in vain, Or bear children for terror; For they are the seed of those blessed by Yahweh, And their offspring with them.

“For just as the new heavens and the new earth Which I make will endure before Me,” declares Yahweh, “So your seed and your name will endure.

Yet I planted you a choice vine, A completely true seed. How then have you turned yourself before Me Into the degenerate shoots of a foreign vine?

I will cast you out of My presence, as I have cast out all your brothers, all the seed of Ephraim.

Is this man Coniah a despised, shattered jar? Or is he an undesirable vessel? Why have he and his seed been hurled out And cast into a land that they had not known?

Thus says Yahweh, ‘Write this man down childless, A man who will not succeed in his days; For no man of his seed will succeed Sitting on the throne of David Or ruling again in Judah.’”

but, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up and brought back the seed of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the lands where I had banished them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”

therefore thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his seed; he will not have anyone living among this people, and he will not see the good that I am about to do to My people,” declares Yahweh, “because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.”’”

Fear not, O Jacob My servant,’ declares Yahweh, ‘And do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar And your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, And no one will make him tremble.
