and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up.

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road.

And the one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;

And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’

He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;

and this is the smallest of all seeds, but when it is fully grown, it is the largest of the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

And He answered and said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,

and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one;

And He said to them, “Because of your little faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies having no children, his brother as next of kin shall marry his wife and raise up a seed for his brother.’

Now there were seven brothers with us; and the first married and died, and having no seed, he left his wife to his brother;

“And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.

“But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.

And other seeds fell into the good soil, and as they grew up and increased, they were yielding a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”

And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil;

and he sleeps and rises, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, he himself does not know.

It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is smallest of all the seeds that are upon the soil,

“Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves behind a wife and leaves no child, his brother should marry the wife and raise up a seed for his brother.

There were seven brothers; and the first married a wife, and died leaving no seed.

And the second one married her, and died leaving behind no seed; and the third likewise;

and so all seven left no seed. Last of all the woman died also.

As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his seed forever.”

And other seed fell on rock and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
