concerning His Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,

For the promise to Abraham or to his seed that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith.

For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be according to grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the seed, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all—

In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “So shall your seed be.”

nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s seed, but: “through Isaac your seed will be named.”

That is, the children of the flesh are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are considered as seed.

And just as Isaiah foretold, “Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left to us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, and would have resembled Gomorrah.”

I say then, has God rejected His people? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham’s seed? So am I.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ.

Why the Law then? It was added because of trespasses, having been ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made.

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.
