The House Solomon Built for Yahweh

6aNow it happened in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he 1began to build the house of Yahweh. 2As for the house which King Solomon built for Yahweh, its length was 1sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits. 3And the porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits 1in length, 2corresponding to the width of the house, and its 3depth along the front of the house was ten cubits. 4Also for the house ahe made windows with artistic frames. 5aAnd he built, against the wall of the house, stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the binner sanctuary; thus he made cside chambers all around. 6The lowest story was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he 1made offsets in the wall of the house all around in order that the beams would not 2be inserted in the walls of the house.
7aThe house, while it was being built, was built of stone 1prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built.
8The doorway for the 1lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and they would go up by winding stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third. 9So ahe built the house and completed it; and he paneled the house with beams and 1planks of cedar. 10He also built the stories against the whole house, each five 1cubits high; and they 2were fastened to the house with timbers of cedar.
11And the word of Yahweh came to Solomon saying, 12“Concerning this house which you are building, aif you will walk in My statutes and do My judgments and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will establish My word with you which I spoke to David your father. 13“aAnd I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and bwill not forsake My people Israel.”
14aSo Solomon built the house and completed it. 15Then he abuilt the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the 1ceiling he overlaid the walls on the inside with wood, and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress. 16aAnd he built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the 1ceiling; he built them for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, as bthe Holy of Holies. 17And the house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was 1forty cubits long. 18And there was cedar on the house within, carved in the shape of agourds and open flowers; all was cedar, there was no stone seen. 19Then he prepared an inner sanctuary within the house in order to place there the ark of the covenant of Yahweh. 20Now 1the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the altar with cedar. 21So Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold. And he drew chains of gold across the front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold. 22So he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also athe whole altar which was by the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.
23aAlso in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high. 24And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub and five cubits the other wing of the cherub; from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing were ten cubits. 25The other cherub was also ten cubits; both the cherubim were of the same measure and the same form. 26The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other cherub. 27And he put the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and athe wings of the cherubim were spread out, so that the wing of the one was touching the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. And their wings were touching each other in the center of the house. 28He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29Then he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, from within the inner and outer sanctuaries. 30And he overlaid the floor of the house with gold, in the inner and outer sanctuaries.
31For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel, and five-sided doorposts. 32So he made two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
33So also he made for the entrance of the nave four-sided doorposts of olive wood 34and atwo doors of cypress wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two 1leaves of the other door turned on pivots. 35And he carved on it cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the engraved work. 36aAnd he built the inner court with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.
37aIn the fourth year the foundation of the house of Yahweh was laid, in the month of Ziv. 38Now in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was completed throughout all its parts and according to all its 1plans. So he built it in seven years.

Solomon Builds Yahweh’s House

3aThen Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where Yahweh had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared bon the threshing floor of 1Ornan the Jebusite. 2Then he began to build on the second day in the second month 1of the fourth year of his reign. 3Now these are the 1foundations which aSolomon laid for building the house of God. The length in cubits, according to the old standard was 2sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits. 4And the porch which was in front of the house awas as long as the width of the house, 120 cubits, and the height 120; and inside he overlaid it with pure gold. 5Now he overlaid athe 1main room with cypress wood and overlaid it with fine gold, and 2ornamented it with palm trees and chains. 6Further, he overlaid the house with precious stones for beauty; and the gold was gold from 1Parvaim. 7aHe also covered the house with gold—the beams, the thresholds and its walls and its doors; and he bcarved cherubim on the walls.
8And he made athe 1room of the Holy of Holies: its length across the width of the house was twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits; and he covered it with fine gold, amounting to 2600 talents. 9Now the weight of the nails was 1fifty shekels of gold. He also covered athe upper rooms with gold.
10aThen in the room of the Holy of Holies he made two cherubim of fashioned work and overlaid them with gold. 11Now the wingspan of the cherubim was twenty cubits; the wing of one, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house, and its other wing, of five cubits, touched the wing of the other cherub. 12And the wing of the other cherub, of five cubits, touched the wall of the house; and its other wing of five cubits was attached to the wing of the 1first cherub. 13The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits, and they stood on their feet 1facing the main room. 14aAnd he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and he ornamented cherubim on it.
15aHe also made two pillars for the front of the house, 1thirty-five cubits 2high, and the capital on the top of each was five cubits. 16And he made chains in the inner sanctuary and put them on the top of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains. 17aThus he set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right and one on the left, and named the one on the right Jachin and the one on the left Boaz.

Revelation 12

The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon

12And a great asign appeared bin heaven: ca woman dclothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2And she was with child, and she *acried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth. 3Then aanother sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red bdragon having cseven heads and dten horns, and on his heads were eseven diadems. 4And his tail *swept away a athird of the stars of heaven and bthrew them to the earth. And the cdragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth dhe might devour her child. 5And ashe gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to 1,brule all the 2nations with a rod of iron; and her child was ccaught up to God and to His throne. 6Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there 1she would be nourished for a1,260 days.

War in Heaven

7And there was war in heaven, aMichael and his angels waging war with the bdragon. The dragon and chis angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9And the great adragon was thrown down, the bserpent of old who is called the devil and cSatan, who ddeceives the whole 1world. He was ethrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10Then I heard aa loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the bsalvation, and the power, and the ckingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the daccuser of our brothers has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11“And they aovercame him because of bthe blood of the Lamb and because of cthe word of their witness, and they ddid not love their life even to death. 12“For this reason, arejoice, O heavens and byou who 1dwell in them. cWoe to the earth and the sea, because dthe devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only ea short time.”
13And when the adragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted bthe woman who gave birth to the male child. 14But the atwo wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly binto the wilderness to her place, where she *was nourished for ca time and times and half a time, from the 1presence of the serpent. 15And the aserpent 1poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 161But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon 2poured out of his mouth. 17So the dragon was enraged with the woman and went off to amake war with the rest of her bseed, who ckeep the commandments of God and dhave the witness of Jesus.
