⁴⁷Now Saul had taken the kingdom over Israel, and he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, ^athe sons of Ammon, Edom, ^bthe kings of Zobah, and ^cthe Philistines; and wherever he turned, he ¹inflicted punishment.
