John 13:18-30
18“aI do not speak about all of you. I know the ones I have bchosen; but cthat the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘dHe who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’ 19“From now on aI am telling you before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe that bI am He. 20“Truly, truly, I say to you, ahe who receives anyone I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”
Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
21When Jesus had said these things, He abecame troubled in spirit, and bore witness and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, that bone of you will 1betray Me.” 22The disciples began looking at one another, aperplexed about whom He *spoke. 23There was reclining on aJesus’ bosom one of His disciples, bwhom Jesus loved. 24So Simon Peter *gestured to him to inquire, “Who is the one of whom He is speaking?” 25He, aleaning back thus on Jesus’ bosom, *said to Him, “Lord, who is it?” 26Jesus *answered, “He is the one for whom I shall dip the piece of bread and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the piece of bread, He *took and *gave it to Judas, athe son of Simon Iscariot. 27And after the piece of bread, aSatan then bentered into him. Therefore Jesus *said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” 28Now no one of those reclining at the table knew for what purpose He had said this to him. 29For some were thinking, because Judas ahad the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we have need of bfor the feast”; or else, that he should cgive something to the poor. 30So after receiving the piece of bread, he went out immediately. And ait was night.
