¹³^aDo not withhold discipline from the child,Although you ¹strike him with the rod, he will not die.¹⁴You shall ¹strike him with the rodAnd ^adeliver his soul from Sheol.

²⁴The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,And ^ahe who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
