My Soul Thirsts for You

A Psalm of David. ¹When he was in the wilderness of Judah.

O God, ^aYou are my God; I shall seek You ²earnestly;My soul ^bthirsts for You, my flesh ³yearns for You,In a ^cdry and weary land without water.²Thus I have ^abeheld You in the sanctuary,To see Your power and Your glory.³Because Your ^alovingkindness is better than life,My lips will laud You.⁴Thus I will bless You ^aas long as I live;I will ^blift up my hands in Your name.⁵My soul is ^asatisfied as with fatness and richness,And my mouth offers ^bpraises with lips of joyful songs.⁶When I remember You ^aon my bed,I meditate on You in the ^bnight watches,⁷For ^aYou have been my help,And in the ^bshadow of Your wings I sing for joy.⁸My soul ^aclings ¹to You;Your ^bright hand upholds me.⁹But those who ^aseek my ¹life to destroy it,Will go into the ²^,^bdepths of the earth.¹⁰¹They will be ^adelivered over to the power of the sword;They will be a ^bportion for foxes.¹¹But the ^aking will be glad in God;Everyone who ^bswears by Him will boast,For the ^cmouths of those who speak lies will be closed.

¹³Then David and his men, ^aabout six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah, and they went ^bwherever they could go. Now it was told to Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, so he ceased going out in pursuit. ¹⁴And David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of ^aZiph. And Saul sought him every day, but ^bGod did not give him into his hand.
