Psalms 63 - 65
My Soul Thirsts for You
63A Psalm of David. 1When he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, aYou are my God; I shall seek You 2earnestly;My soul bthirsts for You, my flesh 3yearns for You,In a cdry and weary land without water.2Thus I have abeheld You in the sanctuary,To see Your power and Your glory.3Because Your alovingkindness is better than life,My lips will laud You.4Thus I will bless You aas long as I live;I will blift up my hands in Your name.5My soul is asatisfied as with fatness and richness,And my mouth offers bpraises with lips of joyful songs.6When I remember You aon my bed,I meditate on You in the bnight watches,7For aYou have been my help,And in the bshadow of Your wings I sing for joy.8My soul aclings 1to You;Your bright hand upholds me.9But those who aseek my 1life to destroy it,Will go into the 2,bdepths of the earth.101They will be adelivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a bportion for foxes.11But the aking will be glad in God;Everyone who bswears by Him will boast,For the cmouths of those who speak lies will be closed. The Righteous Will Be Glad in Yahweh
64For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
Hear my voice, O God, in amy 1complaint;bGuard my life from dread of the enemy.2Hide me from the asecret counsel of evildoers,From the tumult of the bworkers of iniquity,3Who ahave sharpened their tongue like a sword. They baimed bitter speech as their arrow,4To ashoot 1from places of hiding at the blameless;Suddenly they shoot at him, and bdo not fear.5They 1hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They 2talk of alaying snares secretly; They say, “bWho can see them?”6They searched out unrighteousness, saying,“We have completed a diligent search”;For the 1,ainward thought of a man and his heart are 2deep.7But aGod 1will shoot them with an arrow;Suddenly they will be wounded.8So 1they will acause their own tongue bto turn against them; All who see them will cshake their head.9Then all men 1will afear,And they 2will bdeclare the work of God,And 3will consider 4what He has done.10The righteous man will be aglad in Yahweh and will btake refuge in Him;And all the upright in heart will boast.Blessed Is the One Whom You Choose
65For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song.
To You, there will be silence and praise in Zion, O God,And to You the avow will be paid.2O You who hear prayer,To You aall flesh comes.3aWords of iniquity prevail against me;As for our transgressions, You batone for them.4How ablessed is the one whom You bchoose and bring near to YouThat he would dwell in Your courts. We will be csatisfied with the goodness of Your house,Your holy temple.5By 1,afearsome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O bGod of our salvation,You who are the trust of all the cends of the earth and of the farthest 2,dsea;6Who aestablishes the mountains by His strength,Being bgirded with might;7Who astills the rumbling of the seas,The rumbling of their waves,And the btumult of the peoples.8They who inhabit the aends of the earth are in fear on account of Your signs; You make 1the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.9You visit the earth and acause it to overflow; You greatly benrich it;The 1,cstream of God is full of water; You establish their dgrain, for thus You establish 2the earth.10You water its furrows abundantly,You smooth its ridges,You soften it awith showers,You bless its growth.11You crown the year 1with Your agoodness,And Your 2paths bdrip with richness.12aThe pastures of the wilderness drip,And the bhills gird themselves with rejoicing.13The meadows are aclothed with flocksAnd the valleys are bcovered with grain; They cmake a loud shout, indeed, they sing.
